With respect to Phishing: Phishing is the term coined by Internet scammers who imitate legitimate companies in e-mails to entice people to share user names, passwords, account information or credit-card numbers.
The term Phishing comes from the fact that Internet scammers are using increasingly sophisticated lures as they "fish" for users' private information. The most common ploy is to copy the look and feel of a web page from a major site and use that design to set up a nearly identical page that appears to be part of the company's site.
There are several steps you can take to make sure you never fall for one of these scams:
Please remember to always be suspicious of any E-Mail that requests personal account information, such as solicitations for usernames, passwords, account numbers or any other personal data. Just because it looks like it came from an authentic source, doesn't mean that it did.
Be aware that Churchstyle/DivineStitch never asks customers for password information via phone or E-Mail, as that information is private and is only known by users. We do have access ad do not need to asked you.
In addition, Churchstyle/DivineStitch will never ask for billing or payment information through E-Mail. E-mail is not secure, do not ever send your credit card information though e-mail.
Always ensure that you're using a secure server when submitting credit card information. We are secure! To make sure you're using a secure server, check the beginning of the web address in your browsers address bar - it should be https:// rather than just http://.
Contact your bank or credit card company if you think you may have replied to a fraudulent E-Mail with sensitive personal information.
Microsoft has recently created a security update for Internet Explorer that will help you avoid Phishing scams. It removes a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to mis-represent the location of a Web page in the Address bar of an Internet Explorer window. Churchstyle/DivineStitch strongly urges you apply this patch if your computer has Internet Explorer installed (even if you do not use Internet Explorer as your primary web browser). To install this security update, please visit this Microsoft site, which also includes additional background information.
We apologize for taking the direct e-mail links off the site, but, in common with many other major sites, our site is constantly being spydered by ''Spam bots'' which are then using our addresses to send offers of inappropriate, offensive, and illegal material. The simple tactic we use below beats robots, and works better than most e-mail filtering software.
